Dance our way, tell our story.

Drawing inspiration from the life of every participant, CHEN Wu-Kang, artistic director of HORSE, collaborates with a group of senior dancers to create original dance pieces tailor-made for them. Like the famed Taiwanese snack Ma’lao, or deep-fried rice ball that is crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside, each of these senior dancers is a tender soul wrapped in a tough shell.

Your Dance Your Way is part of the 2020 Art Promotion Plan directed by the New Taipei City Government’s Cultural Affairs Department using the Shulin Arts Center as the main venue. A series of rehearsals and workshops were held from August to September 2020 during which senior amateur dancers were led to explore the “theme song in their heart” and have it translated into a unique body language. Their works were presented at the Shulin Arts Center in September.
